Job Description:

The Education Specialist is a registered nurse responsible for orientation, staff development and in-service for the ECCO (Essentials of Critical Care Orientation) staff in collaboration with the CNS and unit management at FH. He/She utilizes current trends, practices and continuous process improvement to enhance the training program implemented through the Center for Nursing Education. He/She acts as a consultant and resource to educators within the hospital setting regarding training and educational issues and serves as a resource on regulations and standards set by the Board of Nursing and other regulatory agencies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Knowledge and Skill Required:
Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

Education Required:
Bachelors in Nursing

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or actively seeking reciprocity from another state.

Position Schedule:
Full-Time, 80 hours every two weeks, Salaried position. Monday - Friday schedule from 8:00am - 5:00pm.

We are a growing ED, servicing our resorts, many international visitors and the community of Celebration as well as the many new residents in the four corners area. We have an innovative approach to the “fast track” care called lean which facilitates a brief visits for the patient, which has allowed our standards to be door to doc in less than 60 minutes.

Position Summary:
Florida Hospital Orlando is seeking a Clinical Nurse Manager that is a registered professional nurse, to lead our Labor & Delivery and High Risk OB units. At our level III Tertiary Center we have 9 Labor & Delivery rooms, 2 Operating rooms, 4 PACU beds, 3 Triage beds and an 18 bed High Risk OB unit. We perform approximately 3500 deliveries and 5000 triage visits per year.”The Baby Place” at Florida Hospital was selected in 2002 by Fit Pregnancy Magazine as one of the “Top Ten Places to in the country to have a baby”.

The Clinical Nurse Manager provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the clinical unit. The Clinical Nurse Manager over these areas would participate in unit employee selection through interviewing and the hiring process as well as manage approximately 75 FTE’s. The Clinical Nurse Manager directs and evaluates all personnel according to hospital, nursing and unit philosophy and objectives. They are a role model and resource person guiding staff in the development of skills and capabilities. The Clinical Nurse Manager develops unit activities that support the elements of extending excellence.

Position Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years in OB Management experience required
Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field required
Masters Degree in Nursing or related field preferred
OB Certification preferred
