The Clinical Research Coordinator is a professional registered nurse who possesses knowledge, as well as, demonstrates the ability to facilitate, implement, and manage neuro patients entered on sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials. Specific age groups are identified in the position responsibilities. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Graduate of school of nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• Current registration with the Florida State Board of Nursing
PREFERRED LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION:
• Certification as a clinical research coordinator (CCRC)
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• CLINICAL TRIAL MANAGEMENT: Responsible for screening, assessing eligibility, and managing the care and follow-up of neuro patients placed on clinical research trials.
• COMMUNICATION / DATA MANAGEMENT: Facilitates communication between principal investigator, sub-investigator, patient, patient’s family, hospital, sponsor, and Research Division Supervisor.
• COLLABORATION: Collaborates with investigator’s offices, hospital nursing units, and other departments that impact the clinical trial and patient outcomes.
• PATIENT CARE: Provides care and support to study patients as needed by the patient and according to protocol and assures the safe delivery of patient care while demonstrating regard for the dignity and respect of all patients and family members as defined in the philosophy of the organization.
• REGULATORY: Implements steps necessary to meet compliance with internal and outside Regulating Agencies.
• OTHER: Demonstrates respect and regard for patients, family members, committee members, physicians, visitors, and hospital personnel as defined in the philosophy of the organization. Demonstrates professionalism in demeanor and interpersonal interactions with all staff, patients, family, and visitors. Maintains the confidentiality of physician, patient and departmental information with no infractions. Plans and manages time appropriately. Demonstrates sensitivity to cost containment measures by conserving hospital supplies, equipment, and human resources. Performs other duties as assigned or directed to endure the smooth operation of the department or division. Demonstrates support of hospital and department policies, procedures, and guidelines to remain in accordance with requirements for employment, including, but not limited to: compliance policy and procedures, fire and safety regulations, hospital dress code. Maintains continued professional growth, participates in on-going education seminars or inservice programs. Completes required hospital education requirements. Maintains proper attendance and punctuality to ensure that the Institute is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner. [Above average attendance (0-4) days or incidents, satisfactory (no more than 6 days or incidents) in twelve months]. Provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with department policy.
