CVICU is a 28-bed post open heart intensive care unit. Our patients have had CABG, valve, Thoraco adominal, AAA or other type of vascular surgery. We are a recovery area and the patients are admitted to the unit, immediately post op. We make assignments according to patient acuity. We have 9 dedicated ORs and do an average of 2500 bypass cases per year. We have 16 surgeons and run off standing orders. We have Hewlett Packard Merlin Monitors with no central monitor, so nurses are responsible for staying at the bedside. We utilize Pleurovac and Emerson chest drainage systems and Gish cardiotomy reservoir for auto transfusion. Labs, x-rays, and ancillary services are ordered by computer. There is a satellite pharmacy and point of care lab open Monday through Friday 7a-11pm. Documentation is done on a tri-fold flow sheet with supplemental PIE charting. There is no mandatory OT in CVICU, but OT is available on an ongoing basis. We currently have full time, day shift openings on CVICU. Apply online and discover the possibilities at Florida Hospital. The Neuro Medical Unit
This unit is comprised of patients who have experienced Brain Attacks, Transient Ischemic Attacks (TIA) and other neurological disorders. The Neuro Medical Nurses work with a specialty trained team, including Neurologists, Interventional Radiologists and therapists to provide critical monitoring, assessments and treatments during the acute stages of illness. This specially-trained team compassionately supports patients and families with a focus on regaining cognitive and physical function. Here, you’ll provide patients with an educational plan to reduce risk factors for neurological disease, and collaborate with case managers to safely transition patients to rehabilitation or home care. In addition, you’ll have the opportunity to become an expert in seizure disorders, as you care for patients admitted for advanced seizure monitoring.
Unit specifics include:
· 38-bed remote telemetry unit
· Opportunity to work for the area’s designated Stroke Center and the busiest stroke hospital in the state
· Evidence based practice
· Patient rooms supporting a calm, soothing environment
Position Specifics:
  • Full-Time, 72 hours a pay period (12 hour shifts)
  • Nights ,7p-7a (Every other Weekend required)
Position Requirements:
  • Graduate from School of Nursing (BSN Preferred)
  • Registered Nurse License in State of Florida
  • Basic Life Support (CNRN and ACLS preferred)
  • *1 year minimum, Primary Care (PCU) level experience (Neuro experience preferred)

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Works closely with the Business Health Service team including our physicians, physician extenders and other staff members to care for adult aged employees. Interfaces with executives and employeesat multiple locations and supports the travel medicine program. Performs a variety of occupational health activities as supported by standing orders from the appointment medical director. Assists in the design of wellness programs and health initiatives and fully deploys identified programs and monitors results. Is responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Follows all infection control policies and procedures. Is essential in maintaining organization andfacilitating patient flow. Actively participates in a wide variety of quality assurance programs. Manages OSHA recording and reporting as directed by Centra Care policy and process.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and practices; ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate wellness initiatives; excellent verbal, written communication skills; presentation skills to various sized groups; ability to counsel employees on health issues in a one onone setting; knowledge of ability to make referrals to community health and support services; current proficiency in CPR; knowledge of various software programs and utilization of computer systems; current Florida Driver's license; ACLS and BLS certifications.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
