Under general direction the Transplant Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the movement of patients through all phases of the transplantation process. Primary responsibilities include patient education, pre and post transplant; coordinating the recipient and living donor evaluations; following the post-transplant patients in the hospital and the clinic. Responsible for conducting professional as well as public education presentations on the subject of transplantation, and to maintain good relationships with physicians and ancillary care units in our service area in order to promote increased patient referrals. Actively participate in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Ability to work independently in a stressful environment
· Decision making aptitude and problem solving skills
· Must be diplomatic in dealing with different levels of personnel
· Clear concise communication skills both oral and written
· Manage time effectively and work independently
· Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
· Basic computer skills
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Bilingual
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· One-year critical care or dialysis experience
· Must be skilled in providing care for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient

· Bachelor Degree in health related field
· Teaching and/or precepting experience
