The Neurosurgical Unit
As a Neurosurgical Nurse, you’ll work collaboratively with a specially-trained team including skilled Neurosurgeons, Interventional Neuroradiologists and therapists to provide comprehensive Neuro patient care for patients after complicated spinal and brain surgeries. If you enjoy complicated cases and are excited by the opportunity to specialize in the Neurosurgical arena, you’ll thrive in this prestigious fast-pace unit.
Unit specifics include:
- 39-bed surgical remote telemetry unit
- Private patient rooms
- Open unit environment
- Exposure to cutting-edge treatments, such as Gamma Knife® radiosurgery, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Interventional Neuroradiology
- Advanced seizure monitoring
- Region’s busiest spinal surgery unit—more than 1,300 complex spinal surgeries per year
Position Specifics:
- Full-Time, 72 hours a pay period (12 hour shifts)
- Days,7a-7p (Every other Weekend required)
Position Requirements:
- Graduate from School of Nursing (BSN Preferred)
- Registered Nurse License in State of Florida
- Basic Life Support (CNRN and ACLS preferred)
- *1 year minimum, Primary Care (PCU) level experience (Neuro experience preferred)
Job Description:
The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
