GENERAL SUMMARY:
The RN is skilled in the area of Orthopaedic disorder assessment, management, patient and family education, and management of the nursing care plan. The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care to age specific groups identified in the direct care responsibilities. Utlilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning implemmenting and evaluating) in acheving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies.
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
The RN interacts with the patient and other healthcare team members to interpret, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• The Orthopaedic RN possesses knowledge relating to immobility, pain management, anatomy and physiology of the musculoskeletal system, pre and post operative care, complications, and psychological impact of orthopaedic disorders.
• CPR
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• RN with current orthopaedic knowledge obtained through formal or informal educational opportunities.
• Graduate of a school of nursing.
