Cardio Respiratory Care Unit
The Cardio Respiratory Care Unit (CRCU) is a 20-bed unit located on the 4th floor of the Ginsburg Tower. CRCU is the only unit of the 7 campus system that has been dedicated to the care of stable trached patients who need special attention to be weaned from the ventilator. To accomplish the great outcomes our patients experience, we collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. We have an active Nursing Practice Council and active Medical Directors who assist in maintaining our high standards we offer our patients and employees. This department is currently in transition from a PCU to an ICU level.
Patients Cared For:
u Trached, Ventilated patients
u Overflow: Stable cardiac medical patients
Special Therapies:
u Weaning protocols
Health Care Team Members:
u RNs (experienced, transitioned, and GNs via CCNIP)
u Patient Care Techs/Nurse Techs
u Health Unit Coordinator/Monitor Tech
u Clinical Nurse Specialist
u Clinical Education Specialist
u Assistant Nurse Manager/Charge Nurse
u Respiratory Therapists
u Physician Medical Directors
u Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team, consisting of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Pulmonary CNS, Nutritionist, Pharmacists, Chaplain and Case Manager
Ratio:
u 1:2 or 1:3 ratio based on acuity
