Job Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work in Radiology who will learn all aspects of Radiology procedural care. The Radiology nurse must be able to perform a wide range of technical skills, which are utilized during a variety of Radiology procedures to provide an efficient, comfortable, and safe examination of all patients. The RN will be trained to be proficient in all aspects of preparation, assessment, documentation, and monitoring consistent with the policies and procedures of the Radiology Department and hospital administration. They must be willing to spend much of their time with sedation and anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients either in the main department or MRI having taken PALS and ACLS.

The Radiology nurse evaluates patient status upon arrival and throughout procedure by demonstrating knowledge of electrocardiographic, homodynamic, hematological and age appropriate data, updating physician of any potential life threatening changes throughout procedure. Applicants must possess the knowledge to care for the seriously/critically ill patient in the critical care setting with emphasis on the neuro critical care patient. Will be required to assist with interventional cases on the neuro critical care patient i.e. stroke, embolization and stent placement as well as perform various radiology procedures, as assigned by the Supervisor or Administration. Will be required to review records for appropriate documentation prior to beginning of procedure and assist with timely room turnover.

Knowledge and Skill Required:
ACLS
PALS
Must have at least two years of Critical Care RN experience and have completed required critical care courses
Good organizational skills, creative, self motivated, strong problem-solving ability
Must have the ability to communicate and cooperate well with technical staff, nursing staff, and physicians
Ability to function appropriately under stress
Must project and promote courteous and cooperative public relations for our department and Florida Hospital
Must have ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision
Must be able to document, legibly and accurately
Must be able to perform all essential nursing functions
Must be able to set priorities for the numerous nursing care activities in caring for the critically ill patient
