Our patient mix includes not only total joint replacements, but also a variety of spine procedures, orthopaedic trauma, sports injuries and upper extremity surgeries. Our doctors, nurses and therapy staff work as a strong interdisciplinary team to promote rehabilitation while an active Clinical Best Practice Committee works continuously to improve patient care, satisfaction, and outcomes. The following is a list of our Ortho/Rehab nursing units:

The Fracture Care Center (FCC) provides care for patients with complex fracture and orthopaedic trauma cases, both pre and post operative. This unit is a 19-bed adult trauma orthopaedic unit. We serve patients from all over Florida with complex fractures requiring surgery. We work with a nationally recognized team of Orthopaedic Traumatologists to deliver care to patients with complex fracture and orthopaedic trauma cases. Our Fracture Care Center has state-of-the-art orthopaedic procedures, minimally invasive, limb salvage, and joint replacement procedures.

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit is a 10-bed CARF Certified, acute-rehabilitation unit which specializes in speech, stroke, orthopaedic, back, spinal, hip, and knee care. It also focuses on neurological diseases/injury-CVA, TBI, and Brain Tumors. We also accept patients with other diagnosis, which limit the person’s ability to return home. All admissions are prescreened planned and must meet criteria to be accepted into the program including medical stability, the ability to tolerate 3 hours of therapy daily and have a solid discharge plan. Nursing works closely with the therapy staff that includes NeuroPsy, PT, OT, RT, Speech and Case Management.

Job DescriptionThe Nurse Technician is one who assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care by performing specific tasks under the direction of an RN to identified age specific groups.
