Florida Hospital Altamonte has a 36-bed Medical/Surgical Oncology unit-located in our new patient tower which opened December 2007. Through our whole-person care nursing philosophy, we care for the patient and their families during all stages of Oncology and Hematology disorders. For our staff we offer a dedicated relaxation lounge, a free charge nurse, a 4:1 patient to nurse ratio, a Collaborative Practice Team, and two educational specialists individually dedicated to Oncology and Medical/Progressive Care training. For our patients we are able to provide inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and I-131 Thyroid cancer treatment. Requirements

  • BSN required
  • Oncology certified (or must obtain within 6 months of hire)
  • Must have at least 2 years of Oncology experience

The Clinical Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse with global responsibility for the quality and continuity of patient care for specific age groups identified by the standards of care. Nurse Manager provides leadership in the delivery of care and nursing practice within the clinical unit. Nurse Manager participates in unit employee selection through interviewing and the hiring process. Directs and evaluates all personnel according to hospital, nursing and unit philosophy and objectives. Nurse Manager is a role model and resource person guiding staff in the development of skills and capabilities. Nurse Manager develops unit activities that support the elements of extending excellence. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all appli cable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
