The East Orlando Emergency Department is composed of 36-beds and sees over 68,000 patients yearly. The patient care delivery system is a nurse partnership model based on acuity. The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care to an assigned group of geriatric, adult, adolescent, pediatric, and infant patients.
Registered Nurse-Emergency Department (Fulltime-Nights)

Job Description:
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising total nursing care to all age groups. Performs, properly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with departmental and hospital policy. Assesses for and intervenes when abuse or neglect suspected. Performs treatments and administers medications. Anticipates needs and plan of care and responds appropriately. Interprets and verifies physician’s orders correctly. Demonstrates ability to assess and interpret data relative to patient age (all age groups) and takes appropriate action. Investigates concerns or challenges and offers suggestions for improvement/correction.

Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing according to policy and enforces safety regulations.Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year recent ED RN experience
• PALS or ENPC (or obtained within first 6 months employment)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Must be a graduate of a school of nursing
