The Brain Attack Center Coordinator, in collaboration with medical and clinical leaders, is responsible for the coordination of clinical excellence in stroke care across the
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Advanced knowledge of adult neurology and stroke nursing theory and practice
2. Strong communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills
3. Team facilitation and performance improvement techniques
4. Aptitude for critical thinking and decision making
5. Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
6. Knowledge of system and change processes
7. Leadership skills, creativity, organization, and self-direction
8. Ability to interact appropriately with patients, families, staff, physicians, and the community.
9. Skill in using specialized equipment in respective area of practice
10. Sensitivity to cost containment measures creating an environment that encourages this practice by conserving hospital supplies, equipment, and human resources
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
1. Past teaching experience in formal/informal settings with knowledge of adult learning principles
2. Clinical experience using stroke related medications and treatments
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Graduate of school of nursing
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Five years experience in neuroscience nursing or neuroscience related nursing field (i.e. rehab.)
• NIHSS Certification
• Stroke Center Experience
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Experience as Stroke Coordinator or Neuroscience Clinical Nurse Specialist
• Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN)
• Research coordinator and data management experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing

• Certification in Neuroscience Nursing (CNRN) or Critical Care Nursing (CCR
