GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Practice Manager and Medical Director, this position is responsible for providing physician support and supervising clinical staff in a physician office practice. Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies and medications, appropriate staffing levels, resident education and training, and quality of clinical functions to ensure efficiency/productivity of the unit. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Must pass basic clerical test and type a minimum of 24 wpm
Basic Life Support (All employees must obtain Basic Life Support by August 31st, 2008 effective for all new hires June 2nd, 2008)

- Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Responsible for overseeing and coordinating the clinical back office functions including the ALPN/LPN and MA staff to ensure efficiency and productivity of unit.
· Responsible for ALPN/LPN and MA hiring, disciplinary actions, timely evaluations, and positive feedback to their unit staff.
· Responsible for day to day back office staffing of the unit.
· Assists in unit clinical functions as needed.
· Ensures that maintenance labor tracking falls within standards set by Medical Education Administration and that overtime is utilized only in emergency situations with management approval.
· Responsible for proper and cost effective levels of nursing supplies and medications, as well as proper function of equipment.
· Facilitates the professional development of clinical staff and resident physicians.
· Promotes an environment of open communication as demonstrated through interaction with patients, staff, resident physicians, faculty, administration and outside facilities. Utilizes positive problem solving skills and conflict resolution to assess and diffuse difficult situations.
· Works well within the organizational framework to achieve hospital/departmental goals and objectives including, but not limited to the facility Business Plan.

The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups.
