The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care to various age groups. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the HBO2 department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through verbal and written methods. Performs, properly documents and reports all procedures in accordance with department policy. Obtains / reviews Personal Health History. Evaluates patients developmental level. Completes the daily assessment. Completes all follow-up assessments and evaluations. Performs treatments. Assesses for signs of abuse or neglect. Identifies needs and plan of care. Functions appropriately in emergencies. Identifies patient knowledge deficits and oversees education of patient and family. Documents legibly and appropriately. Evaluates effectiveness of interventions. Interprets and verifies physician orders. Investigates questionable situations.
· Must have the physical ability to pressurize in a hyperbaric chamber
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Proficient in software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Explorer as well as hospital specific software. Computer keyboard typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Graduate of school of nursing
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Completion of hyperbaric medicine program
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse
· Basic CPR
PREFERRED LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION:
· Credentialed as Hyperbaric RN or Wound Care Specialist
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support
