Considered among the country’s best for neurology and neurosurgery, Florida Hospital’s Neuro Division specializes in the early detection and treatment of brain, spinal, and central nervous system diseases and disorders—including Parkinson’s disease, strokes, and brain tumors. Using such state-of-the-art treatments as Interventional Neuroradiology, artificial spinal discs, and Gamma Knife radiosurgery, the hospital’s neurologists and neurosurgeons perform more neurosurgeries and treat more stroke patients than any other hospital in the state. Additionally, the Hospital’s Altamonte and Orlando locations serve as designated Stroke Centers.
The Neuro Critical Care Unit
In the Neuro Critical Care unit, you’ll advance the care of the acute Neuroscience patient, involving pathologies, such as, brain injury, spinal injury, intracerebral hemorrhage, seizure and brain attack. Here, you’ll gain access to the nation’s leading research and clinical trials, while working within one of the Southeast’s largest Neuro Intensive Care Units.   • 20 private ICU beds
  • 1:2 Nurse Patient Ratio
  • Computerized documentation
  • Team scheduling
  • Nursing Support: Assistant Nurse Manager (without patient assignment), Unit Mentors, Neuro Case Managers, Neuro Clinical Nurse Specialist, Neuro Education Specialist, Advanced Neuro collaborative practice team
  • Unit Practice Council
Position Specifics:
  • Full-Time, 72 hours a pay period (12 hour shifts)
  • Nights ,7p-7a (Every other Weekend required)
Position Requirements:
  • Graduate from School of Nursing (BSN Preferred)
  • Registered Nurse License in State of Florida
  • Basic Life Support (CNRN and ACLS preferred)
  • *1 year minimum, Intensive Care (ICU) level experience (Neuro experience preferred)
*Note: Candidates with at least one year Med/Surg or PCU level hospital experience are encouraged to apply and may be considered for the Critical Care Nurse Internship Program.
Job Description:
The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
