GENERAL SUMMARY:
The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care to age specific groups identified in the unit standards of care (may include neonate to geriatric). Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
· Articulates comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and specialty nursing theory and practice for all age groups.

The Nurse is responsible for supervising and responsibly directing the activities of various levels of assigned nursing personnel utilizing both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment. Uses the nursing skills of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in their patient care delivery. Primary function is the delivery of competent, compassionate, and cost effective nursing care. To utilize the nursing process in the direction and administration of the medical and nursing plan of care. This performance is in complian ce with established policies, procedures and protocols under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, Director, Vice President of Clinical Services, and or designee.
Must take occassional call.
