The Cardiac Intervention Unit is a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit focusing on medical cardiology and specializing in cardiac intervention cases. It is located on the 6th floor of the Ginsburg Tower. Our staff ratio is 1:4-5. Members of our team include, patient care techs, monitor techs, and health unit coordinators. We have a Nurse Practitioner working with us in moving our patients quickly through the discharge process. Our Education/Clinical specialist play an integral role in documenting our competency, as well as, improving our skills.

Patients Cared For:

  • Cardiac and Vascular interventional patients
  • Overflow: other cardiac and vascular patients requiring PCU level care

Special Therapies:

  • Invasive lines: primarily arterial and venous sheaths

    Education is important to our team members, and they are able to take advantage of the numerous educational offerings provided by Florida Hospital. ACLS and CCRN Review are just a sample of the advanced programming available. We also have an excellent Cardiac Intervention class all new employees attend as part of their orientation/training.

Requirements:


  • Full time, night RN. Minimum 1 year recent progressive care/critical care experience required. Cardiac cath lab experience a plus. Must have current Register Nurse Florida licensure.

The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
