At Florida Hospital our primary customers are patients and families. Our partners are physicians and our team members are all employees of Florida Hospital.
UNIT INFORMATION
Our new surgical suite which opened in January 2009, is located on the second floor of our new patient tower at Florida Hospital Altamonte. Our new 30,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art surgical suite includes: 6 ORs, 8 pre-op beds, 12 PACU beds, 10 private post-op beds, integrated Multi-media Operating Rooms, Platform for live surgical broadcasts, web-based education and instructional video production, international connectivity, and multiple education/conference centers.
GENERAL SUMMARY
The RN is a registered professional nurse who is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age specific groups. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. This position also will include additional coordinator responsibilities.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (JCAHO, OSHA, Specialty Standards) strongly preferred
- Computer knowledge and skills
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Graduate of nursing school
- BSN degree
- At least one year circulating experience
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
- Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse
- CPR certification
PREFERRED LICENSURE OR REGISTRATION
- Certified Operating Registered Nurse
