With the support of your mentor and an expert team of nurses, you'll have an opportunity to fine tune your critical care nursing skills in our Multi-Sytems/Renal Units; you’ll treat individuals with varying acuities through a variety of medical/surgical, progressive care, and intensive care.

The following is a list of our Multi-Sytems/Renal nursing units:

4South is a 38-bed Medical/Surgical/PCU unit that specializes in the care of the renal/urology diagnosis, kidney/liver/pancreas transplants, chronic renal-failure, radical prostatectomy, general surgery and vascular surgery. Over 100 kidney transplants on average are performed each year. This unit has the capability for remote telemetry monitoring on for patients.

7Tower-Multi-Systems PCU is our Multi-System Progressive Care Unit which has 39 private beds; all patients are on a 24-hour remote telemetry. The diagnosis may include but are not limited to the following: anemia, chest pain, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, cerebral vascular accident, drug overdose, pneumonia, syncope, vascular insufficiencies, and various post-ops.

Nurses in this 16-bed Multi-Sytems ICU (MSICU) acute care unit provide primary care for patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnosis including sepsis, renal transplantation, respiratory disorders, and vascular surgery. The unit admits patients that may require invasive hemodynamic monitoring, continuous renal replacement therapy, or chemical paralysis. Patients may be involved in research studies as well.

Job Description
The Senior Nurse Technician is one who assists the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care by performing specific tasks under the direction of an RN to identified age specific groups.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Basic Life Support

Education and Experience Required:
Entered the final semester of professional nurse education with documented skills from the school of nursing. Proof of satisfactory completion of first semester course and skills and continued enrollment in Professional Nurse Education.

Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required:
May use the title “Nurse Technician until ATT” (authorization to Test) is granted or unsuccessfully written State Board exam two times after graduation. The employee may remain as a Nurse Tech only the above length of time and only if a position is available and the employee has satisfactory evaluations.

Pay: Per Diem Rate $14.00

*One shift per week only.
